Meet the cute and squishy little crochet dumplings! These are mini versions of the squishy dumplings, but they have a lot of fun variations!

The Mini Dumpling fits perfectly inside the mini steamer in this pattern, or you can put it inside a paper soup cup to create a fun mystery/blind box.
I also made a little swing for the dumpling. It is such a fun way to display it!
Different Dumpling Options
There are a few different ways to make your dumpling.
Mini Dumpling: Make a simple little dumpling. It is cute on its own or inside the mini steamer.
Leggy Dumpling: Add two tiny legs to your dumpling. This version is extra fun and fits in an 8 oz soup cup.
Mini Steamer: Make a tiny steamer with a lid. You can put your dumpling inside.
Steamer Swing: Turn the steamer into a little swing. Your Mini Dumpling can sit on it.
Dumpling on the Swing: Crochet the dumpling and swing together. This version makes a cute little hanging decoration.

Before You Start
This is a quick and easy amigurumi project. It takes me under 15 minutes to crochet a mini dumpling, and the same amount of time to crochet the steamer.
And the most fun part, these are completely no sew patterns.
The Mini Dumpling is worked first. You can then choose which extra pieces you want to make.
You can make a simple Mini Dumpling, add tiny legs, or add some poly pellets inside to make your dumpling extra squishy and fun to squeeze.
Use tight stitches so the stuffing does not show through.

Other materials and tools:
Main Body
Begin with main color yarn. Work in spiral rounds.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (1 sc, 1 bobble-2-dc in the same stitch) * repeat 6 times [12]
Rnd 3: 12 inc [24]
Rnd 4 – Rnd 7: 24 sc [24] [4 Rounds]
Rnd 8: (1 sc, 1 dec) * repeat 8 times [16]
Place the safety eyes between Rnd 5 and Rnd 6, 3 sts between them (about the 9th and 13th stitch). Stuff the dumpling with fiberfill, or place 10 g of poly pellets into a sheer sock and insert it into the dumpling to make it squishy and fun to squeeze. I recommend embroidering the facial details before inserting the bag of poly pellets. Embroider the cheeks with pink yarn between Rnd 5 and Rnd 6, 1 stitch wide. Embroider the mouth on Rnd 6 with dark brown thread, 2 sts wide.

Rnd 9: 8 dec [8]
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the last round and pull it tight to close the hole. Make a knot to make it more secure and weave the yarn tail.

Leggy Dumpling

To make the leggy dumpling, first mark 2 stitches on Rnd 8 of the mini dumpling, 3 sts apart. We will crochet 2 legs on these 2 stitches.
To crochet the leg, with the dumpling upside down and the front facing you, attach brown yarn to the marked stitch, pull up a loop and chain 6, start to work in the third chain from the hook:
(1 bobble-4-dc, chain 2, slst) in the same stitch, then work 1 sc in each of the 3 remaining chains, slst in the marked stitch on Rnd 8. Fasten off and weave in the yarn tail.
